Bio
Ida Elena is a Sicilian singer-songwriter and guitarist based in Rome, with two pop albums influenced by Celtic-folk, including Native Spirit (Maqueta Records), and a collaboration with the metal band Bare Infinity (The Butterfly Raiser, nominated for Best Metal Album 2017 by IMA NYC). Her artistic career began as an actress, before fully dedicating herself to music, boosted by her appearance on I Raccomandati at just 19 years old.
Her songwriting journey blends Irish folk and pop influences, creating mystical and dreamy atmospheres. The video for “Native Spirit,” combining fantasy and mystical elements, won two international awards, including Best Vocalist and Best Video at the Los Angeles Video Music Awards. Ida Elena also won the Female Vocalist award at Musica Celtica Italia in 2022.
She later shifted toward electro-pop with Voices (2020) and Wild (2021), the latter winning Best Video at the 2023 Rome Videoclip Awards. In 2024, she won first prize at the My Italy Festival in Winterthur, Switzerland, and was a finalist at “New York Canta,” representing Italy abroad with a performance at the Ocean Theater in Brooklyn.
Throughout her career, she has performed at medieval festivals across Europe, including Wave Gotik Treffen, Festival Fantasia, Semper Memento Mori, and Greenfield, taking part in over 500 live shows and theatrical productions, as well as films such as Un amore così grande (2017), where she showcased both acting and singing.
A cornerstone of her artistic journey is her nearly twenty-year collaboration with German musician Albert Dannenmann. Together, they formed the duo Cantus Lunaris, performing across Europe, including Germany and Austria, at prestigious events such as Wave Gotik Treffen in 2013. Their music, combining ancient instruments with world music influences, has captivated audiences with its depth and originality.
In 2025, Ida Elena began a new collaboration with musician and producer Vincenzo Grieco, creating the projects Fr_ida and La felicità è una piccola cosa.
